Progress within Media Studies

This term in Media Studies, we chose as an idea for our project to make a website. For our website, we chose to do it on the topic of 'Pewdiepie'.  The topic of Pewdiepie is a pretty broad topic, but we have so far covered where he is from, and we are currently working at the moment on how he started out.  We decided to do this website on Pewdiepie because we feel like he is a very inspirational person, not only for children, but for adults as well. For the fist 8 weeks of this term, we were planing out ideas that we could on our website. These ideas included, what kind of information we should add about Pewdiepie. That's what we were doing for majority of the time because it surprisingly hard to come up with ideas for that. But we eventually thought of a few ideas that we could add into the website. For this project, it hasn't really been one person doing it all. Each person in this group has contributed something to this website, whether its them writing stuff on the website, or them just putting out their input to help us out. Overall, I think that so far we are on track to actually making an alright website.

Final Music Reflection

When I first started music I had no interest in it at all. But over time I have grown to love music. I love playing the drums in music. Because this was our last day of music, I've decided that I'm gonna keep practising playing the drums and doing some drum lessons.

I want to keep playing the drums because I think that I have a little talent at playing them. But the biggest reason is because I actually enjoy playing the drums a lot.

My objective is that I will continue playing the drums, and doing some drum lessons. Whilst continuing playing the drums, I want to learn a lot of new skills for playing them.

But overall, music has been a great time and experience for me to learn some things that I might want to do later in life.

Reflection

When we first started doing music, I chose that I was gonna play the guitar, but I didn't really enjoy it. After I had stopped playing the guitar, I started learning how to play the drums. When I first started playing the drums I struggled with hitting two or more things at the same time. I also struggled with the movement to different parts of the drum. But slowly I got more aware to where things were, and the type of arm movements I had to do. But now I am completely aware of where I have to move my arms and what I have to do. I can now go from playing a steady beat to going into the drum roll and back into the beat in a smooth transition. Since I know how to do all of that, I now want to learn how to play a completely new beat so that I can challenge my self. I have helped my group when they didn't know how to do some of the stuff. Now everyone in the group knows what they are doing. My group also helped me when there were some things that I didn't know how to do.  I think that the group had pretty good communication with each other.

How you can become autonomous

To become autonomous you would have to find something that's new and you want to learn. When you have found that you have to start practising over and over again. But you might start out by being all over the place. So you have to be paying a lot of attention to what you're doing. When you have payed heaps of attention over periods of hard practice, you might not have to be paying as much attention as you did. Slowly you can learn how to learn it without any attention.

What I enjoy about Music

I enjoy that when I am playing music it is really fun. But at the same time, it trains your brain to learn a pattern. Music also helps you to grow and expand your memory. But also when I am just listening music, it can help with relieving stress. So overall I think that music is just a really fun way to train your brain.

Element and compound notes

Mg + O2
Magnesium + Oxygen

An element is made up of only one type of atom. A compound is made up of 2 or more elements, that are chemically combined. When we got a piece of magnesium, the colour was silvery grey, and it was a solid. Once we put the magnesium above the bunsen burner. It turned into Magnesium Oxide, which is made up of magnesium and oxygen. The Magnesium Oxide was a bright white solid, that turned into a white grey powder.

English-Sexy Paragraph

The person that I admire as a hero is Slade Griffin.

The reason that I admire Slade Griffin as a hero is because he started off playing as a kid for Cobden Kohinoor, which is the same Rugby League team that I play for. Slade Griffin then went to Cronulla to play for the Sharks in the New South Wales Cup. In 2013 Slade was signed up by the Melbourne Storm. He stayed at the Melbourne Storm for four years. On his last year at the Storm he was part of the team that won the Grand Final in the NRL.The Storm played against the Queensland Cowboys. The score was 34-6 to the Storm. `

In 2012 Slade Griffin tore a ligament in his right knee, which took him out for the rest of the season. While he was injured the Storm decided to extend his contract so that he can return to the team from injury. When he returned to NRL Slade tore the same ligament but this time in the left knee, which kept him out for the whole 2014 NRL season. In 2015 Slade was playing a Queensland Cup game when he tore the same ligament again in his left knee, which kept him out for another season without playing any NRL games. In 2016 he returned to the Storm, and was starting more regularly. The Storm extended his contract until the end of the 2017 season.

I think that Slade Griffin has showed that if you keep at something, and keep training and training then you can achieve anything. Slade had to deal with terrible injuries over and over again, but he kept trying to recover each time. Slade Griffin shows a lot of commitment to Rugby League, that everybody can learn from, and should try to have that much commitment as well. Slade shows people that they need to keep determined at something and to not give up. I think that Slade Griffin inspires everyone on the West Coast that plays Rugby League. Slade Griffin definitely inspires me, and all of my friends that play League.
